Greg Blanchard's practice focuses on professional liability errors and omissions defence, information technology and e-commerce issues in litigation, directors and officers litigation, and general insurance litigation.
Greg has experience at all levels of the court system in British Columbia. He participates regularly in arbitrations and mediations, and has appeared before administrative tribunals and professional regulatory bodies.
Greg is regularly involved in advising professional associations and their insurers in areas of risk management, loss prevention and coverage.
Greg's recent work includes acting as defence counsel in a complex auditor's liability trial, defending numerous lawsuits arising from the collapse of a mortgage broker, representing a major insurer in an action brought against the insurer as a result of a denial of directors and officers coverage, and acting as defence counsel for corporations involving directors and officers litigation.
Greg has written several papers and articles on such topics as Limited Dual Agency, and amendments to the Income Tax Act prescribing civil penalties for practitioners.
Greg is the head of the Information Technology Group of Canadian Litigation Counsel, a national affiliation of independent insurance defence law firms.
