Justine Forsythe joined Whitelaw Twining in June 2007.

Justine practices general insurance defence litigation, with a particular emphasis on professional liability claims and transportation law matters. She has represented clients in the Provincial and Supreme Courts of British Columbia.

Justine has successfully defended and resolved personal injury and property damage actions, professional liability claims pertaining to the defence of real estate agents, and transportation law claims. Justine has prepared coverage opinions on various types of insurance policies, including CGL, Board of Education Liability, Municipal Liability and Marine Insurance.

Justine’s previous work also includes successful litigation defence at trial and by 18A summary trial, mediation and settlement of a variety of disputes, practice in administrative law and prosecution of subrogated property damage claims. Recent cases that have proceeded to court include:

• Ferrier v. Johnscross Properties (B.C.) Ltd., 2010 BCSC 492 – Successful 18A dismissal of an occupiers liability personal injury action
• Kawana v. Sung, S.C.B.C. New Westminster Registry No. S112701 - Successful 18A dismissal of professional liability claim against a real estate agent
• Wilson v. Canadian Motor Inn Ltd., 2010 BCPC 46 – Successful defence of an occupiers liability personal injury action after 3-day Provincial Court trial
